GPS tracker follows you on snow
See where you have been for the day, but watch out if the après ski kicks in.
See where you have skied in the day
The holiday company Crystal has teamed up with SportsDo so you can put a tracking device in your pocket and see where you've been skiing during the day.
The unit receives your locations from satellites and records the route of your skiing.
15 European resorts are being piloted. The price for day’s rental is 25 euros.
It is simple to use and generates graphs and charts of performance. It notices when you get on a lift, automatically keeping a separate track for each lift used.
WATCH OUT!
But be careful later on
Rather worrying for some though is the news that it also records “stop overs”.
So if you are intending on a bit, or a lot, of après ski then make sure you switch it off if you don't want others to find out.
According to the marketing information friends and family can also see where you have been round the mountain by logging on to the web site.
You have been warned!
Participating resorts include; Soldeu, Ellmau, Kitzbhel, Banff, Alpe D’Huez, Courcheval, Flaine, La Plagne, Les Deux Alpes, Morzne, Risoul, Tignes, Cervinia, Claviere and Saas Fee.
