I asked if she’d prefer a different shape, perhaps one with a sidewall but she insisted on the Blondie for the sake of weight, its playful flex, and that she knew it. A month or so later, I was taking photos of her off the screen of my TV, skis in hand, smile ear to ear, as her score came through. I respect her for the relationship she developed with that ski. It was clear to me she knew best.
